This year we have done some trials with larvae rearing of Dover Sole. These trials were done in the context of the project 'Tongkweek Zeeland' and in cooperation with Stichting Zeeschelp. Next week we expect results from feeding trials and sex ratio in juvenile sole.... exiting!
In the meantime we developed a new concept in sole larval rearing; shallow rectangle bassins. We did some trials with shallow larvae rearing with promising results! So we developed a recirculation system for larvae rearing and nursery combined.
Right now we are testing with sole in juvenile stage; the fish seems happy. For the next spawning season of our sole, we will try this system for larvae rearing as well.
